Our Projects

Santhome Palliative Care is the second project of the Trust. We plan to have two more programmes under this palliative care Project.

Palliative & Hospice Care at Erayamangalam:
The Trust intends to have a 70-90 bed palliative care Nursing Home at Erayamangalam village in Thiruvallur district. The Trust owns ten acres of land at Erayamanagalam village, where it manages a fully furnished old age home for senior women citizens. Santhome Snehatheeram home takes care now 70 senior women citizens and ten staff presently. There are a few unoccupied rooms now. Now we plan to convert those rooms with hospital beds and other nursing home facilities to begin admission immediately for patients who need urgent palliative & hospice care. The trust also plans to construct a new building with dormitory, double rooms and single room facilities that could potentially accommodate 70 – 90 patients. This facility is open to persons from all walks of life. Services to the economically backward are rendered free of cost.

Temporary Hospice Nursing Care:
The Trust aims to use the existing infrastructure in Snehatheeram old age home to provide hospice care. There are about ten rooms and one dormitory and that requires oxygen cylinders, medical equipment and other infrastructural amenities.

Santhome Snehatheeram

Santhome Snehatheeram was established by Santhome Charitable Trust in the year 2009 April at Erayamangalam Village in Thiruvallur district for Senior Citizens. The home for the aged is a fully furnished, 45000 square feet building with an excellent caretaking team. It has begun with seven inmates and now in the home there are seventy inmates. Around136 individuals have lived and died decently in this very Home. This Home is situated in 10 acres of land. The Trust embarked on the construction of a new building, a concrete structure of around 4000 sq.ft. envisaging palliative hospice care for patients. This was undertaken right before the onset of the pandemic COVID-19 but remained unfulfilled due to shortage of funds.
